About University

Gomal University is located in Dera Ismail Khan in the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa. Former Prime Minister Zulfikar Ali Bhutto was the founder of the university, laying the foundation store on May 1, 1974. First Vice Chancellor Sardar Nawab Allah Nawaz Khan Saddozai Durnai was the founder vice-chancellor and the donor of the university's land, donating 11000 kanals of land to the establishment of the university.


The main campus of the university is located in Dera Ismail Khan, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa.

Dera Ismail Khan is situated on the west bank of the Indus River, 200 miles west of Lahore and 120 miles northwest of Multan. The city is the capital of the district and tehsil of the same name. In Pakistan, its name is often abbreviated to D. I. Khan.The city is connected to Bannu via the highway, which further connects it to the provincial capital of Peshawar via Kohat and Darra Adam Khel. Another road connects D. I. Khan to Mianwali through Chashma Barrage. The third major road connects it to Bhakkar in Punjab, situated on the eastern bank of the Indus River.

Dr.AQ Khan Auditorium
Dr.AQ Khan (Abdul Qadir Khan) Auditorium, is the Auditorium of Gomal University, which provides facilities for ceremonial sittings at the campus accommodating approximately 700 audience.

The Central Library at the Gomal University has one of the largest collections of books. Borrowing facilities are available only to regular students of the University in accordance with the regulations of the library
