About University

National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST) was founded in 1991 by the Government of Pakistan and got its charter in 1993. The student body consists of over 7,000 students, including 102 international students and over 884 postgraduate students.


NUST is a multi-campus university spread all over Pakistan. Its central campus is in Islamabad with other campuses at Rawalpindi, Risalpur and Karachi.

The CENTRAL CAMPUS has been established at Sector H-12, Islamabad to cater for the fast-growing requirements of a technologically advanced campus of science and technology. Islamabad is the greenest city of pakistan and the most planned one. The city is well-organized, being divided into different sectors and zones.The city is connected to Lahore and peshawar through Motorways - M2 and M1 respectively. Islamabad, being the capital of the country is home to federal parliament (National Assembly and Senate), Supreme Court, President's Secretariat, Prime Minister's Secretariat, and federal ministries, corporate offices of all major public and private, national and multinational organizations.

Facilities and Resources

Sports Facilities
All the campuses have their own sports facilities. Separate courts for indoor games and activities such as table tennis, badminton, squash etc. are available in almost all campuses. Tennis, Basketball and Volleyball courts, Hockey, Football and cricket grounds are also present in all the main campuses. Some colleges also have their own swimming pools and gymnasiums.

Student Residence
Separate hostels for boys and girls are available in most colleges and is at various stages of completion in the rest. Students of CAE are all provided separate accommodations, while students at MCS, CEME and AMC are placed in the newly constructed dormitories at the campus.

Student Bodies
Different student run organizations, societies, and clubs are present in almost all the NUST campuses. These include Telecom Society, Software Society, IT Club, Automobile Club, Environmental Protection Club, Literary and Debating Society, Dramatics Society, Hiking Club, Aeromodeling Club, Photography Club, and Sports Club. Apart from them Deep Sea Diving and Sailing Club is also available for the students of Pakistan Navy Engineering College in Karachi.
